Quietly Freaking Out

I just got the day-2 embryo update. Of the 8 embryos left out of the freezer, ALL of them are Grade A's. I'm kinda in shock right now. Transfer is currently scheduled for day 5 - Friday at 9:45am.

This sounds crazy, I know, but as happy as I am about this news, I'm also a little nervous. Doesn't it seem like things are going a little too well? I don't mean to be cynical but shouldn't I be waiting for the other shoe to drop here??

I'm quietly freaking out today. I'm happy, nervous, thrilled, worried, overjoyed, and wary. I'm so used to getting bad news when it comes to all things reproductive, I guess I'm just not used to this.

OK. I'm just going to try to enjoy this fantastic news and not let my demons get the better of me.

Truly, I am beyond grateful.

Yeah!! Think good thoughts like "my body is ready to carry a baby" and "that embryo wants to implant" and things like that.

How many are you transferring, anyway? I had 7 grade a's, transferred two, of which one implanted...

At this time, we're planning to transfer one. I would prefer two but my doctor thinks one is best. She's the expert I guess. We'll know for sure on Friday when we see what the embryos are up to.

Hilary, this is so amazing and fantastic! I've been thinking about you and sending good embryo thoughts your way. (Which I will continue to do, mind you!)

I know it's hard not to hallucinate to the negative, especially after all you've been through. Just keep breathing and thinking since everything has gone so well, things will *continue* to go well. :)

Wow, more great news! I can't wait to hear how the embryos develop! I haven't gotten to IVF yet, but I'm already trying to think about issues like whether to transfer 1 embryo or 2. Hmmmmm... tough decision. What are your thoughts about the possibility of twins?

I say Bring On The Twins!

Triplets scare me, but twins don't at all. :)
